Hi, We’re the Hagars!

We’re the faces behind the Family Archivists: Rachel and Morgan Hagar. We live in Portland, OR with our twins and our two cats (what can we say? We like even numbers).

Our own family archive means everything to us, and we understand the level of trust it takes to hand those original items over to someone.

As a small, family-owned business, our very first goal is to take excellent care of your keepsakes and memorabilia, and make sure you feel comfortable throughout this process. That starts with knowing who WE are. You can learn more about us below!

You want to ensure your memorabilia is safe and sound while it’s in our care. Here’s how we do that:

  • Most analog items (prints, slides, negative, albums and scrapbooks, etc.) are one-of-a-kind. We recognize that fact and take care of your collection as though it were our own.

We do not open your collection until it is time to work on it and when we do we handle everything with gloves.

Sadly, most old photo collections are stored in deteriorating, non-archival storage boxes or envelopes in garages, attics, crawl spaces or basements.

We recommend storing your newly organized collection in photo albums, boxes, and envelopes that are all acid-free and archival for generations to come.

  • As soon as we receive your digital images, we make two copies so that there are a total of three sets of your collection:

-You have one set (the originals)
-We have a working set and a backup set.

This insures you always have a safe copy of your digital as well as your digitized analog collections.

We also assist in recommending and implementing reliable photo backup and storage solutions to ensure the safety of your digital memories, preventing potential loss due to hardware failure or accidents to ensure all of your memories are safe.
